The care sector is undeniably in a talent crisis.

Consider the NHS: If current trends persist without effective intervention, predictions suggest a potential staff shortfall between 260,000 and 360,000 by 2036/37.

Skills for Care's annual report on the state of the adult social care workforce in England paints a grim picture. The job vacancy rate, a measure of workforce shortages, dropped from a record 10.6% in 2021/22 to 9.9% in 2022/23. Meanwhile, the vacancy rate for the entire UK economy during the same period hovered around 3.5%.

This pressing issue is a reality for care sector employers nationwide. It's challenging to find the time and focus when constantly dealing with vacancy shortages.

While pay is part of the solution, there are other answers too.

Engage Care Talent is the podcast where we explore, discuss, and share solutions to these issues.
